Apple’s Next-Gen MacBook Chips to Feature Massive Upgrades
Apple is speeding up the M3 chip’s testing, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. According to information acquired by an App Store developer, there will be a version of this next platform with a 12-core CPU, 18-core GPU, and 36 GB of RAM.
Gurman estimates that in late 2023 or early 2024, Mac laptops with the new chip, produced using TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm technology, would begin to emerge on the market.
The future CPU will continue to have six cores with great performance, with the other six being power-efficient. This increase in core count coincides with the switch from the M1 to the M2 generation, which is expected to increase demand.
In addition, the Mac business had a large 31% decrease in the prior quarter, below analysts’ forecasts.
According to Gurman, the M3 Pro and M3 Max versions will show off comparable improvements to the M1 through M2 series. According to rumors, the M3 Max has a 14-core processor and a 40-core graphics processing unit, while the M3 Ultra may have an astonishing 80-core processor.
However, keep in mind that these details have yet to receive an official confirmation, so proceed with caution while considering this information. The next Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is slated to take place next month, is likely to provide further information.
